Hongkong Backpacker/DIY: Kowloon Park, Nan Lian Garden, Chi Lin Nunnery, Wong Tai Sin Temple

1. Kowloon Park

It was just a 3min walk from the hotel so might as well make it the first stop. When I got there I saw the locals  running along the isles, doing Tai Chi in the garden and random by passers on their way to work. They were fun to watch. The park was big and there was so much to see. They have 3 pools at the back. They have statues of famous chinese cartoon characters, an aviary and ponds with fishes and flamingos.

2. Nan Lian Garden

The rain was pouring hard when I got to Diamond Hill Station so I waited for it to pass inside Plaza Hollywood mall. The Garden was just a street away but the pedestrian has no roof so I had no choice. When I got to the garden I was amazed to how beautiful the place was. There were different kinds of sculptures, trees, and beautiful flowers and a temple right in the center of high rise building and condominiums. East meets West as they call it.

Entrance to the garden is free and it is open daily from 7:00am to 9:00pm.

3. Chi Lin Nunnery

This is just across Nan Lian Garden. There is a bridge that connects both the Nunnery and the Garden, it is right in front of the golden temple.

4. Wong Tai Sin Temple

Just one station from Diamond Hill, I then visited the famous Wong Tai Sin Temple. It was still raining and I was getting wet but who cares. LOL. This was a legit temple. There were life size chinese zodiac signs at the temple entrace, and lanterns and bells and incense and burners of different kinds. Everything screams traditional Chinese.
